Church Photography

Photographed with reverence, and with a very quiet shutter.

Church photography sounds like it would be so simple, right? Actually it demands a lot of a photographer. Church photography encompasses shooting a live "performance" sometimes in dark lighting with many people of all ages and sizes. Plus there are architectural details, stained glass windows, the staff, the leadership and more. A church holds special events, baptisms, weddings, celebrations, funerals… and it must be photographed in silence for most of the duration of the service.

Sacred Spaces

I have spent many years in churches - mainly in the Episcopal Diocese of the Central Gulf Coast - photographing priests, bishops, congregations, children, performances, dedications, receptions among 65 parishes, both small and very large. So, I understand sacred spaces, not using flash, and working as quietly and invisibly as possible.

In addition to church services and other church events, Blue Room also photographs large congregational photographs. If your church or non-profit organization has a need for professional photography, please contact me with your details and I will give you a reasonable quote for the work.
